The Web Poetry Corner - Alfy Andrews - Axe and the Tree
Axe and the Tree
by
Alfy Andrews
Down in the valley, I saw a tree:
Amidst the lush green mountain grass
It was withered wild and free
Amidst gold and diamonds it was the brass
Though watered by torrential rains and dew
It stood like a poor starved child
Is it because of the strong wind that blew?
Or due to the acid rain that poured down so mild
Why amidst fertility there is lack of foliage?
And the fruit is nowhere to be found
Oh upon this hill , you give a sorry image.
Thine wood would soon be logs that are brown
For you failed to bear fruit, the axe will cut down!
To the tree that's barren the axe shall come
To kill and cut the tree that does not blossom
Therefore let us be firmly rooted in Him so dear
When we abide and bear fruit, how can the axe come near?
NEXT?
Why don't you look at
Repeatedly Empty
