The Web Poetry Corner - Alfy Andrews - A failing man's Hope
A failing man's Hope
by
Alfy Andrews
Habitual sins, willing done always pressed
The Holy spirit's call was supressed
Passing pleasures and sins, I was loving
Staying for long in the phase called backsliding
One day I decided to quit that easy broad way
So on my knees to Jesus, a prayer, I went on to say
Lord Jesus forgive this wretch, and show compassion
Please fetter and subdue my heart's sinful passions
My saviour my God, I need a second chance, please give
Come thou into my heart and rule it wholly and live
Jesus I know that thou wilt pardon, and make my heart glee
For thou will all my sins toss into the depths of the sea.
