I lie with you in love
Not because you are a woman first
But loving friend and lover of my trust and
Truth living in particular my love
And not because I am a male, a
Man muttering my cause, but me
Giving wonder to the world, to you
with dreams which laugh, which sing,
And cry. Enjoy the allowances you
Make and give allowances to you to
Be alive and loving equally the dream
As beautiful as life can be. I lie with you
To be alive, to love not because you
Are a woman first, but lover, loving friend.
