Pale Winds of October
by
Adam Gosha
Sadness and loveliness have yet to pay off.
I've given up my all through pure blue-type eyes
and smiles and love. All seems to go
nowhere. It's how things seemed worth while
for a while. It's how I'll never seem to
see repetitions of the past. Did you see
the old-school Coke bottles? Did you happen
to see the shirt I was wearing the other day?
And in the night, did you happen to see the stars
glowing bright in the pale winds of October
while the glow of cigarettes lined the streets
of Broadway like the lights back home at
christmas time?
