The Web Poetry Corner - Adam Gosha - As I'm Passing Away
As I'm Passing Away
by
Adam Gosha
I truely am sorry
for the people of our earth.
Especially the ones who
think they are an important
part of this society.
In between senseless
duties they skutter about
in a daydream. Thinking of
what to cook for their
next meal,
if they can pay for the car
this month,
which road will save them
a few precious seconds of
time so they can live in
their white cupboard homes
delicately highlighted with
gaudy sofas and tables,
various lamps and appliances.
They travel in their own
world, not this one.
Their worlds are false
and disconnected. They're
playing an endless game,
where those who die are
the winners.
Space is never shared,
nothing is experienced,
even in bed, to them, is
only a few more points to gain.
They think they have friends,
their friends are just the
same as they are. Trying
to capture worthless attention,
trying to show the others up,
trying to be the best of their
group, and succeeding,
of course.
This and all of this,
runs through my mind,
as I pass a fellow human...
wave...
and get a dirty look.
