Teen Movie Critic
You'll have to look far and wide to find a movie this weird. The film stars Christian Slater in an excellent performance as a young man who worships Elvis and works in a comic book store and finds love in the oddest of places. Detroit. The love he finds is in the form of a young call-girl played by Patricia Arquette (Rosanna's younger sister) with a lot of charm and wit. This is a very violent movie but also a very funny one, so it's no surprise that the story was written by "Pulp Fiction" director Quentin Tarantino. Slater and Arquette go on a series of wild and crazy adventures before they find the home of there dreams.
There are some excellent supporting characters including Gary Oldman of "JFK" as a pimp, Brad Pitt as a stoned-out doper, Dennis Hopper as Slater's father and Christopher Walken as an extremely evil mob boss. The only flaw is that it's a little too flashy for it's own good. It's definitely in the Tarantino vein.
