Comedies have become perhaps the most difficult genre to master. There are many different types of humor, although it's generally harder to please mass audiences in this genre. This is why I usually keep low expectations when I see comedies. In fact, the funniest parts of the movie are often in the trailer and there aren't many other scenes in the running time that hold that momentum. Every now and then, I find a movie that makes me laugh out loud. Wedding Crashers may not be the funniest film ever made, but it does pretty damn good job of making me laugh out loud.

John and Jeremy are emotional criminals who know how to use women's hopes and dreams for their own carnal gain. They enjoy crashing weddings. Normally, they meet guests who want to toast the romantic day with a random hook-up. When John meets Claire, he discovers what true love and heartache feels like. One of the primary reasons why haters dislike Wedding Crashers is that they they that the film is predictable. I personally don't see a comedy to see something thought-provoking and be shocked with twists and turns. I prefer to save that for the thrillers. I watch comedies to laugh and see outrageous situations unfold on screen. I got just that with Wedding Crashers. Not all of the jokes are hilarious, but a good deal of them are. My gripe is that the film is a bit long. The filmmakers could have easily cut a bit of the unnecessary footage out. Otherwise, this film features a nice romantic story along with a hysterical script.

While we have the screenplay to thank for a lot of the hilarious scenes, the charm of the cast is what crafted a lot of the humor. Owen Wilson plays John. He has starred in his share of crappy movies, but he's quite good when he's at the top of his game. This is shown in Wedding Crashers. Vince Vaughn is Jeremy and has a certain charisma that simply wins over the audience. Even the supporting roles, such as Christopher Walken, Rachel McAdams, and Isla Fisher are quite convincing in these given roles. It's apparent that these actors had a good time on set, which genuinely passes on to the audience. This is a fun comedy and the cast is one of the primary reasons that it's such a blast to view.

I haven't heard many moviegoers bring up Wedding Crashers for quite some time. It's a funny, funny movie that boasts an excellent cast with fantastic dialogue. If you're looking for a thought-provoking or a character-driven, this isn't it. This flick is for those looking for a hilarious comedy. I still find this movie just as funny today as it was years ago. Wedding Crashers has earned a solid recommendation for those looking for a film to get you laughing.
