A lot of film makers these days seem to be cashing in off adapting comic books into movies. Most of them are awful and focus on nothing but visuals. I have been looking for a long time for one that would impress me with more than visuals, and I finally found one.

The story follows the city called Sin City which is corrupted in violence and obviously sin. It follows three stories, each seeking revenge, lust, and trying to save the city. The movie is broken up into the three parts to show each characters point of view of the city. They are all after different things, but all have something in common. I think this is a very interesting idea to be able to see three stories and watch as they all tie together. Sin City has one of the best comic book adaptation stories around.

The movie features a lot of big names most people will recognize. It has Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Devon Aoki, Alexis Bledel, and many others. It is directed by Robert Rodriguez, Frank Miller, and Quentin Tarantino. This just indicates that the acting is stunning. Each character gives passion in every line said and in every movement on screen. This is one of the best casts I have seen in a long time.

The entire movie is shot in black and white. The only colors that will pop are gold, red, and a couple other colors that the directors wanted the audience to notice most. The filming style is insane with fast camera work and a lot of great shots. There is a lot of blood and gore throughout the movie, so if you can't handle it, don't watch this movie. The blood is all in black and white, as well, but it still gets very brutal. The visuals are stunning and will always pop into mind when I hear about great visuals.

Overall, Sin City is one of the best super-hero movies out there. This movie has everything and more. It feels long in parts of the movie, but in general it is a very captivating film. It captures emotion and feeling. As everything is happening on screen, the audience can feel it too. This movie is one of my highest recommendations, but only if you can handle the extreme violence.

Next movie: The Scorpion King
