The story is following a few couples and a few single people. Everybody is trying to find true love. Each of the characters is having a tough time finding who he or she believes to be the one tol spend the rest of their life with. The ones that are in the relationships are hoping that they are this is the one and will remain that way. As the movie progresses, each relationship goes to hell and becomes one big mess as they are all connected. It is a simple story, but the pacing is well done. It doesn't move too fast for the audience, while not going so slow that the audience wants to go to sleep. Romance films do not usually have the best scripts around, but this script is fine.
As soon as the cast was listed, I was surprised. It offers a great cast of actors who are more than capable to pull off any of these characters. The main actors are Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scarlett Johansson, and Justin Long. Each actor is able to give his or her character life. Most of the characters are stereotypical. These actors have acting skills that make this movie as realistic as possible.
Many people may think that just because this is a romance/comedy, visuals do not matter. This is completely wrong. Visuals make the camera angles, the colors, and the sets. Every camera angle made sense and are the simple angles. They do not try to overdo angles. The sets are bright and, for the most part, colorful. The brightness of this movie represents hope, the light at the end of the tunnel being happiness.
He's Just Not That Into You is one of the better chick flicks around. It is funny, witty, and charming. Most of the movie is predictable with who will end up together and who will break up, but is still entertaining. He's Just Not That Into You is one a brother or boyfriend may even enjoy seeing.
