Many years ago, we introduced the notion of the CEBBTO...that is, people who wish to Control Everybody's Behavior But Their Own. Originally meant to be a humorous take on such people, we have since decided that their behavior is not a joke and that the word "pervert" is a far more accurate depiction of such individuals. Let's face it, we ALL have a little CEBBTO in us. We ALL have a tendency to look more darkly on the bad habits of others than on our own. That is why the perverts are now in ascendancy. We ELECTED the sons-of-bitches! Being loyal Americans, we believed that they too MUST have the best interests of America at heart, even though they might be "mistaken" in some of their beliefs.
When Richard Nixon began the War on Drugs thirty years ago, we scoffed at the "war" metaphor. "Tricky Dicky is just a repressed individual." we opined. "When saner and mentally healthier people, the congress for example, have to act on this curious notion of waging a war on substances," we thought, "they will surely come to their senses!" Thirty years and uncounted billions of dollars later, we are still waiting. Meanwhile, it has become dangerous...not just to politicians wishing to be elected to office...but to EVERYONE to utter anything positive about so-called "dangerous" drugs. Last week, the Feds busted a hospice in California...you know, a place where people go to die...because some of the patients were using medical marijuana...legal under California state law, but still subject to DRACONIAN federal laws...a TEN YEAR minimum mandated sentence for the FIRST conviction for POSSESSION of this drug. When the current PIC (Pervert In Charge)...the "Drug Czar" John P. Walters...was asked about this on a CNN show Sunday, he said that calling marijuana "medicine" is a "con job." "Just because it makes people who are dying feel better doesn't make it medicine!" he proclaimed. When his predecessor, General McCaffery, was asked the same question, he answered that giving dying people marijuana to smoke was "sending the wrong message to our children." Do you really want these creeps "protecting" your children?
But there's more.
Recently a really sick woman and her demented followers convinced hotels in Cincinnati to remove the choice of your viewing pornography in the privacy of your bought and paid for hotel rooms on the grounds that this material is "obscene." How did she know that? She said...and we are not making this up...that she had WATCHED people engaging in "oral sex" in these movies and had SEEN WITH HER OWN EYES close ups of male and female sex organs engaging in the act of intercourse. She went on to state breathlessly, that 100% of child molesters have viewed pornography! If we understand her correctly, this material is SO INFLAMMATORY...watching adults explicitly engaged in sexual activity which is legal everywhere...that it SO INFLAMES people...like her, for example???...that they then go on to engage in justifiably restricted behavior!
Then there is the "misbehavior" of so many of our giant corporations. There is little doubt that this is a result of "kind" treatment by both the Pooblioob and Demidupe administrations in the past decade or so. A few of those who got caught...maybe even poor Martha Stewart...will get slaps on the wrist...fines and short jail sentences...but we all know that the suppliers of the massive amount of gold necessary to run a modern media based...as opposed to reality and morality based...campaign requires the party in power to reward those who paid the bills. For the Bushites, it is oil and oil interests. But trial lawyers, corrupt unions, environmental pimps and other organized perverts profited greatly under the Clintonites. Of course, it is WE who REALLY pay ALL the bills!
The so-called Patriot Act...passed hastily by the perverts in our nation's capital in the wake of 9/11...allows Attorney General John Ashcroft...the same man who ordered a cloth to be draped over the bare breasts of a statue which appeared behind him at press conferences...to snoop, without a warrant, on your email, your phone conversations, etc..
President Bush himself...before he discovered Jesus so that he could be elected to public office...is widely known to have been a heck of a party animal, liberally indulging in cocaine and marijuana as well as copious quantities of alcohol. His children and brother Flori-duh Governor Jeb's daughter appear to be carrying on the tradition. We all know that Bill Clinton did all sorts of wild things BEFORE and AFTER entering the oval office. Yet, during their stay in office, no fewer than 6,000,000 people have been either locked up in jails or prisons or on parole or probation...a majority them for of drug "crimes"...which amounts to more than all the rest of the nations of the world COMBINED! Oh, in case you wondered, the Bush choldren have NOT been locked up.
All over the country Muslims and Muslim lookalikes...like Indians...are being singled out and persecuted for nothing more than their beliefs or their country of origin. Jerry Falwell, well known Christian pervert, went so far as to call Mohammed himself a TERRORIST! Besides the War on Drugs, the War on Terrorism, the War on Poverty and all the other "wars" the perverts impose upon us, we now have a "War on Sanity" to worry about. The Bill Bennetts and Jerry Falwells of the world will not be satisfied until every remnant of common sense and decency is erased from the United States.
Still think that we are exaggerating by calling these CEBBTOs "perverts?" On the other hand, there are many, many people who are beginning to understand the danger these people represent. The battle is being joined. Where it will end is problematic. The nation is now obsessed with Bush's charade about whether or not he will go in and bonk Saddam Hussein, knowing full well that his mind...if you can call it that...was made up ages ago. However, there is an election coming up. The media's attention is on whether the Pooblioobs or the Demidupes will emerge as victors. Why don't we, the people, give them something else to talk about? Instead of voting for Tweedle Dumb or Tweedle Dumber in this fall's election, why not pull the lever for one of the third part candidates who are running almost everywhere for a variety of offices. It is very unlikely that many of these people will win, but the more votes they get, the more likely the Usual Suspects will sit up and pay attention to us in the future. We may even get a few NON-PERVERTS elected! It's sure worth thinking about.
